Hi, I'm Martin! Thanks for visiting my webpage. I've always expressed an interest for science. At first it was astronomy & physics (during childhood) but then I fell in love with biology.
It wasn't until I enrolled in graduate school that I started working with plants. Plant molecular genetics & genomics is a fascinating field of study.
Because one of the most pressing issues of our time are climate change and land degradation, I am currently focusing on the study of genes that confer tolerance to soil salinity in order to have a clear understanding on how to develop new crops that can be grown in less-than-suitable arable lands.
My approach is to compare genomes of different grass species.
