Received Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciencies (majoring in Molecular Biology) in 2002 from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. My research projects as undergraduate student included biodiversity studies in Drosphila and molecular genetics of purine transporters in Aspergillus nidulans.

Coursework and research activities took place at the Faculty of Sciences.

During my last year in school, I had my first job as biology teacher in three high schools while I was taking Japanese classes to apply for a graduate fellowship in Japan.
